IT does depend on your climate at the time though. Mine is only a summer car up here but the weather gets cold in OCT before it goes away in Nov.

Is the motor stock? What are your bearing clearances? How do you use the car?

I'm real picky about my oil. Usually use 10-30 in my street cars. Unless all I have is 10-40. Or an extra 30 wt lying around. Last time I changed oil in my race only Grabber I had 5 qts of 5-30 synthetic and 3 qts of 5-30 regular oil, so I mixed em together. :D

It is better to run the car WITH oil, than without.

That being said, it pretty much doesn't matter what oil is in there, as long as you HAVE oil in there.

I would steer clear of Extra Virgin Olive Oil...:tiphat:

But again, that would be better than NOTHING!!!

I use Mobil 1 15W-50 in the worn out 302 in the Comet. Holds better oil pressure that 10w-40 since it's thicker of course. 10W-30 High mileage goes in the 170 in the Maverick.

I like Brad Penn 10w-30 in an everyday driver and 20w-50 in my nitrous motors.
