Can I fill them in with bondo, or a fiberglass reinforced filler, or what? I don't want mine to look like they are an insert. Even though they are. Want to do the same with my spoiler pieces, so they blend in without looking like bolt-ons.
Just buy a carbon fiber hood, and sell yours. The issue with filling them on a hood is the different expansion rates of different materials, and since it has a hot engine underneath, nothing will last long.
Damn. I was afraid of that. That is one of the things I never liked about the grabber hoods. That huge seam is an annoyance.
Ah come on man--its an early 70s car, not a new form fit one! lol Really though, its what makes 'em such retro wonders don't ya think! Otherwise I know what you mean--you just have to love 'em the way they are. lol Enjoy whatever you select, thats the main thing!!!!
So far, I only have $150 into the hood. I am pretty sure I only have about $25 worth of material (not counting paint), and a couple hours labor before I have it "like new". CF hoods are WAY more than that.
