I'm looking for some inexpensive 15X7 wheels to mount some drag radials on. F150s and Broncos came with 15X7 wheels but can't find any info on backspace. Does anyone know if the F150/Bronco 15X7 wheels would have 5X4.5" bolt pattern and if backspace would be in the 4" - 4.5" range? Want to avoid spacers.
The only ford trucks that had a 4.5 bolt pattern was 1980-1981 F100's but they were all 6'' rims. All 150's and broncos were 5.5 bolt pattern.
ive got some 15x7's in a proper offset id let go cheap and they have 26-8.5's already on them that have a few passes left
A lot of Mopar and Chryslers have the correct bolt pattern and backspacing as well, I used 7" or 8" with 4" backspacing on my old Falcon
Saw somewhere that the Mopar police wheels were 7" wide. Any others? I'm going to walk thru a junk yard tomorrow and look for aftermarket wheels on Fords and wide Mopars wheels. Thanks.
I am pretty sure that the wheels I picked up at junk yard were from an Imperial, just take your tape measure with you and make sure they have the correct bolt spacing, I forgot that I also ran them on my other Maverick until I got some Centerlines for it, my wife also was able to use them on her 96 Cobra.
The Mopar cop car wheels are extremely hard to find now. My 77 had a pair on the rear when I bought it. They're on the front now. You can buy inexpensive steel 15 x 7's(and 8's) with the 5x4.5 pattern easier than you'll find em in most J'yards.
Also the later Mazda pickups that look like a Ranger, well actually they are a Ranger with different emblems and grill. Toyota 2wd pickups will fit, too, at least the late 70's ones will, later ones should be the same. I had a 78 and used 67 Mustang steelies on it before I bought some aluminum wheels for it. The factory ones will probably be 5" wide, but aftermarkets the sky is the limit....
'93 Explorer 4wd Wheels Searched Mopars and Fords in the junk yard today for some 15X7, 5X4.5 wheels with 4-4.5" backspace. ONLY ones I found were on a '93 4WD Explorer. They're gonna look dumb but they'll do for a few 1/8th mile runs. Test fit was with junk 235/78/15 tires. 4.5" backspace gave 1/4" clearance with the leaf spring.
