ok guys there has been quite a bit of inquiries to me about grabber spoiler i use to make. the problem was that i just didn't have the time nor was there much in it for me when i equaled out my time that it took for me to do these. it wasn't really worth to do them anymore. there was so much time involved such as each part always had to be pre-fitted and checked because of the process i was using at the time. it was very time consuming.

however things have changed since then.

so if i start making the grabber spoiler again is there any interest in it?

but.... do you want the bad news or good news first?

the good news is that it would be about 10xs better and about half as light as the the one i made before.

the bad news is, would you pay double for it? meaning about low to mid $500 for Carbon Fiber and low to mid $400 for pre-preg fiberglass, plus shipping.

why so much more? i would be doing these in an pre-preg auto claved process which is the same process they use in making high end f1 parts and aerospace parts. i know there is really no need to do it that way but at this time i feel this would be the best way to do them.

below is a photo of what the part looked look like before

notice the weaves in the carbon are wavy, bunched up and even deformed. now there is nothing wrong with that and believe me almost everyone that does carbon fiber in the domestic older /muscle car market does it this way. (ie: i do my hoods in this process.) however i can get it done in a much nicer looking way now and also stronger and lighter but again way more expensive.

i don't have a new version of the spoiler to show you, but if you look at this part below you will see the big difference.

notice how the lines actually stay straight and almost never bunched up. now again this is not the only positive reason for this process. remmeber way better fitment, constancy, stronger and lighter!

    so give me your thoughts

this will either be a dream come true or just another thing that get put on the back burner. i'd like at least 10 people to commit to these. like the logos i wanted to make it didn't seem like much interest so no need to do them.

and if i don't make them... every one can go back to the $75 piece of crap that out on the market now. lol! or.... you can wait until one of these other big companies that make mustang and camaro parts jump on the maverick band wagon. ;)

i would like one that is 1" higher than stock. that would make it worth the 400-500 price to me.

I have been watching for carbon fibre hoods. Stock Maverick(not grabber hood) with a 2or 3in cowl. This cowl would be in the raised portion of the hood. Is there some in the plans for the future?.Thks:D

Times 2 If it's going to be a custom piece than a little taller would be my choice too....

I am in need of a spoiler. $400 seems a little high, but if it were taller then stock I think I would feel better paying more.

Here are my thoughts: If you really want to sell these to "Maverick people"....they need to be as CHEAP as possible.

I don't know about the spoiler, but I guess I could be persuaded to put one on the car I'm building now...as long as you'd ship it to Canada. :D

Make it times 3 if the spoiler were taller than stock.

what are the weight savings over a stock spoiler? I cant imagine the weight savings being enough to justify buying a CF replacement. Now... like others have mentioned, if the spoiler had a new design like taller or notched, then perhaps the change could be worth it.

I am with others on the height of the rear spoiler it needs to be higher but I know that would be a redesign and probably wont happen, and as a previous owner of the cowl carbon fiber hood and spoiler and knowing the shipping problems encountered with the hood still wish they were available.

The new process looks great but the old one looked great as well.

Thanks for offering what you have made in the past and will be making in the future, now if you would just leave that dang GTO stuff alone, its just not right reading about MaverickMans carbonfiber stuff for a GTO :)

I would be in for one also if they were an 1" higher too. I am considering the carbon fober grabber hood also for mine when I start to build it.

Thanks for everything you have done and all of your hard work with the parts you have made! You have done a great job on the hoods!(y)

I'm in if taller also it would make a perfect match to my hood and theme for the car. In fact a deck lid would be pretty special too.
