Hmmm, did he offer to make a taller one? Or did I miss something?

Ooooh Carbon Fiber deck lid. I recently removed the torsion bar from my trunk. I am shocked at how heavy this thing is. Dare I say its heavier than the hood?

I understand the price due to the improved method but if I'm just going to paint it, does it really matter? I'd probably say I'd be in for something taller like others have posted.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
hum not to keen on making them taller too many variables i feel. IMO i think the OE sized looks just fine.

weight is not a point i understand that in this case. however most if not all want this because of looks period. however the process is more about constancy and fitment. the process is just lighter period. but all of that comes with price and my time. if you were to get this done outside the three molds would cost about 1800 to 2k at least!

i can make them in a pre-preg fiberglass (look that up if you don't know what i am talking about) instead of carbon fiber but it probably would only be about 100 bucks cheaper.

as for cowl i am working on something with someone to ship cowls for me or/and trying different shipping companies now and looking at policies. also looking into cost on new boxes as well. so i will be doing this again but not anytime soon. just so everyone knows as of a few months ago i am totally sold out of cowl hoods right now.

besides it was also time for a new mold anyways since the old mold is quite old now and i want to start fresh again.

Just for the record.....I have no problem with the stock height or the cost. I'm also willing to wait for the cowl hoods too. Not like I'm needing all this tomorrow......have to finish the kid's '83 GT, get the engine done for my '07 GT, finish the Coyote Stock car.......then I can concentrate on Maverick stuff.

That CF cowl hood shown is a 4in i believe. I would use it if that is the only size available, but prefer the 2-3in one. I will keep watching for any updates on the CF hood:)

I know you already said you aren't keen on making a different profile than stock, but that's what would sell me on a spoiler in this price range. I don't think anyone is talking an extreme difference, just a slightly taller profile.

That being said, I understand your reservations on this. If you start to change it then you aren't going to get everyone to agree on what the profile should look like.

I've personally been toying around with the idea of doing the whole thing (taller profile) in sheet metal as part of the quarters and deck lid, but that's going to take a lot of learning on my part and would be a one-time deal. Nothing like the great products you produce.
