Going to go from silver looking color to black, any advice what to paint it with/how?

    Thanks!

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
Just a good sanding and degreasing should be all the prep you need.

My favorite paint for plastic is PlastiKote. But I've also had good results with the cheap walmart spray paint... 4+ years and it still looks as good as the day I painted it. Not bad for 98 cents a can.

I used some cheap krylon stuff from Walmart on the interior panels and it worked great, just dont know if it would hold up on the grill...

I like to use barb-b-que paint, sprays on nice and is has a good flat color to it and is durable and on hot days it wont burn off :)

I like SEM products .......... it is more of a dye than a paint. Made to penetrate into the plastic besides just coating it. (y)

I second the BBQ grill paint...(I use rustoleums BBQ grill paint) The stuff is tough and sticks forever as long as the prep is done well. I also like plasticote products for small plastic/metal parts. If you want to do it on a McDonalds budget. These two products will do a good job and give you good results. Good luck!!!

I normally use semi gloss wheel paint. The stuff is made to take the abuse and will go on well and look very nice in the end.

Funny i just heard of Montana products the other day guy said it was good stuff.
I have been useing this VHT paint alot recently. It's a epoxy paint that is very durable and the satin finish is just about perfect.

Whatever product you decide to use, I recomend a satin or semi-gloss finish. Make sure you hit it from every angle so you don't have silver showing through. Have fun.:tiphat:

I used Rust-O-Luem, semi gloss automotive black rattle can. The results are satisfactory - the results are seen in my avatar.
