so i have been trying to narrow down the correct spacers for my cobras, my wheels are 17x9 with 6.02'' bs and 1.02'' offset, the only person i know of that had/has similar wheel specs is mean_maverick mine are a tad bigger than his. he used 1'' on the front and 1.25 on the back. im thinkn i should use 1.25'' up front and 1.5'' to 2'' on the rear. what do you guys think?
I think you should use washers (on 3 of the 5 studs) to space out the wheels. Then once you find the best position, measure the thickness of the washers (or the distance from the back of the wheel to the hub).
I'm not a big fan of any wheel spacers over 1/4". They put too much load on the studs and could shear the studs. If it was me...I would buy rims that fit without using spacers.
I have always recommended using a high quality bolt on spacer with it's own studs for anything over 1/4". The washer method will give you the depth, that's the way I would do it too. You may run out of stud length with wheels with that much B/S but I would give it a try.
