I got a guy that wants to trade me my 93 mustang 5.0 Lx for a 2002 Caddilac STS. It shouldnt be a hard choice since in wanting to get a more comfortable daily driver and i listed the Mustang for sale. But I get so attached to my cars, even after just 6 months of driving this one and all the work I put into it. Realistically my car is only worth $3000 without a paint job. The cadillac is worht $4-5000 and only needs a coil pack and a window motor. So even if I just flip the car it would be like getting say $4500 for the Mustang whick would be good since I have less than $3000 into it. Maybe im just not sold on the cadillac but could buy something else i like instead with more money than id get for my mustang. Id really like a 95ish 4 door bmw 325 as a daily driver, decent gas mileage and still somewhat fun.
The Caddy is worth 4k to 5k, but what is the market like for it right now? Selling the Mustang has to be an easier sale. Essentially, it's not worth anything if nobody wants it. Just a thought...
the mustang might get 3, maybe 2500 if i really needed to sell it. i wouldnt even sell it for 3, id rather keep it. But the caddy has to be worth atleast $4000 if i fix a couple things. anything more than $4000 is just gravey above what i would have accepted for my Mustang. Thats alot of car for $4000. regular SLS Sevilles are listed for more than that on craigslist. If it wasnt for the $4 gas and potential $5 gas i wouldnt even consider selling the stang. But I drive 50 miles round trip to work, plus 2 nights a week delivering pizza. thats about $400 a month in gas. another 5 mpg will save me $100 a month. The caddy wont get me there but the BMW 3 series will.
Ryan "The Camel Trader" Now Im thinking of selling my Mexican 302 Block and score a 79 351W. What do you think its worth.
If you are going to go windsor get a roller motor windsor out of a truck. why start with 79? Should be lots of F-150s in the scrapyard, just gotta see what years are the roller motor.
I dont know, dont think so. is a 79 351w a 4 bolt main? Some googleing proved to me that no 351w had 4 holt main. The 71-74 blocks are best to use to convert to 4 bolt main because they have the thicker webbing. And the 94 and up 351w is a roller. Happy huntiung.
Hi Eric, It was good. There are two 4drs.One is a '74 or later and the other is an earlier one.Pretty well gone over but I did manage to get a rear valance, really banged up but it's a start, and the bumper fillers. I also got the plastics for the fender wells. There are still a set of end caps(the corner pieces that fit above the rear bumper)different for a 2dr so I put them in the trunk.I would of gotten them and held onto them, for someone in the group, but he wanted $20 ea. thank you for the tip. John
I see no benefit to a 69 block, get a roller block and be just a little updated. John Im not taking anything off the exhaust. I had the tailpipes put back on and made to clear the 9 inch rear that wasnt in the car when i first had the exhaust made. now instead of being dumped at the axle it goes out the back with the chromw tips again. just lik in this old pic, but not as far out and level this time.
Yes the drive back from Tempe was much nicer after getting the tailpipes on. The drive there had my ears ringing a bit about an hour of freeway cruising.
