ehh.. pretty simple question. what do yall think about a cowl hood and is it worth going through the process?
What "process"? There are several "processes"... 1) Buy a decent metal one, and slap on. 2) Buy a rusty metal one, and cut the rusty front part out and weld in new metal. 3) Buy a new carbon fiber jobbie and slap one. 4) Maybe a fiberglass hood? What "process" are you referring to?
process of getting off my butt and finding one for a affordable price lol. and i want a fiberglassone
well ya for both looks and a better way of keeping my engine cooler. just seems to be a pain in the rear to find one around southeast georgia for a maverick. havnt seen a maverick till i seen mine on side road for sell.
lol nah its kool.my dad told me a cowl hood make mine stick out from all the other cars. but i tried tell him that here where i live im lucky to find a 2000 model mustang gt >.< so sticking out wont be a problem at all :bananaman
My buddy has several hoods he swaps out now and again. One of them is a stock hood with fiberglass cowl on it and I think it looks bad-ass. He's possibly thinking about giving it to me and I'm all over it. I have a stock hood with a functional comet gt scoop on it.
if you were closer i have one that would make your car stick out.. Not a cowl hood though... I hate this thing.
I built mine, found a glass 82-92 camaro hood cut it right at the rolled lines, contours line up perfect. took me a day. i love it. beats runnin no hood, because I dont wanna cut up my grabber hood, even tho it will never fit with this engine.
Threre are glass hoods on the market. I'm not recomending anything but here is a site that you might be interested in. I don't know about the quality of their products, haven't ordered anything from them yet. Just a site I found while looking around online. Price list is at top of page and pictures, when available, are lower down. They do have some cowled hood though. http://www.up22.com/amx68.htm
I'm debating on the Grabber hood and the spoiler myself but I've got a lot of work to complete before I have to decide on those! Those would be the last things I do before the paint shop and the paint shop is a long way away...
