    Mod motors are really pretty strong..................the "cracked" stock rods and stock pistons are the weak link.
    Had a friend with a 98 Mustang Cobra (DOHC) that put a Whipple charger on it and went racing with 15psi (stock pistons/rods)................broke two pistons kind of like JoeDirt..............drove from Seattle International Raceway to Portland with no issues...................180 miles of freeway driving.

    I agree, they are strong, they are very expensive to build to make real power.

    Been working on a 79 6.6L T/A today doing a carb swap, oil change and a mini starter..

    Also picked up a 5.3 longblock to get the parts to fix mine

    Spent the rest of the day with shelby tommorow we hunt easter eggs!

    The mav is gone but i'm still here!
    Harvested the Mav's battery cables, the Tbird developed the dreaded "green rot" so it will be getting them.

    I'm doing a battery relocation in the mav anyways, so I wasn't going to be using them.


    I somehow ended up with an extra battery, I clearly remember taking out the old one.
    But when I opened up the hood there was another battery.

    Sometimes I wonder if elves work on my car, because this is like the 3rd time extra parts just magically appear on my car.

    Or maybe I'm just getting old and forgetting things already at 22 :biglaugh:
