It seems that resizing photos is the hardest part about posting them. At least it is for me.

I found this place that allows you to choose what size you want your pics to be, then you upload them and it resizes them automatically.

Not sure if they charge the forum for privilege to use it, or what other stipulations are attached...

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
imageshack and tiny pic also have an option to re-size them as you upload them.

As far as I know postimage doesn't charge anything to host, a lot of bloggers use them as a host.

They might just take down the pic eventually but in a LONG time, Like years.

I'm lucky to have CS4, it lets me re-size the image with little to no quality loss.
    But it sure was expensive.

Don't know nothing about a Mac...but Windows Paint can re-size images. Be sure to 'Save As' and rename the file so you will still have the original big pic. This is faster than uploading

That's what I use also. Then I use MS Photo Editor, from Office 2000, and save the file again but have the settings to save at 63%. This will cut the file size down up to 75% smaller without losing quality to view on the web.

Everything uploaded here is backed up on a daily basis and you have full control over the files.

Larger files can be uploaded to the gallery and then linked to the forums.

This postimage.org actually does the resizing for you as you upload it to the forum.

So, you click "Add image to post" then point to the picture, and it asks you if you want it sized for 15" monitor, 17", etc, and the it uploads it to the forum in whatever size you choose.

This way, you don't have to open the picture on your computer with some software prior to uploading.

I have a "temp photos" folder on my desktop full of photos, sometimes 3 or 4 copies, renamed, and all various sizes, as I attempt to resize them to make them appropriate sized for the forum.

With this item incorporated into the forum, you can actually upload them directly from your camera without having to copy, rename, resize, or anything.

A quick search shows that they also host content not permitted on the forums

Have you tried the program in this thread to see how easy it is to use?

Once the pics are copied to your temp folder on your desktop, simply load up the program, select the pics folder and click convert (the settings you used last will be used again). Since these are temp pics, you can have it set to overwrite the original files so there is no need to rename them.

Resizing the pics first on your computer may actually be quicker as uploading will be a lot faster as the files are smaller. Even though you may have a fast high speed connection, most connections are fast for downloading but a lot slower for uploading.

In another thread I asked if it would be easy to add a resize function to the upload process. I post images on this forum and one other. The other resizes the images (and makes me declare that the images are family appropriate) as part of the upload and its a lot more convenient.

I keep all of my images -- its very unusual for me to have a temporary image. The images are not so big as to be a performance problem on upload. I create a "Small" subfolder for any folder that has images that get uploaded to maverick.to. Its a bit of a nuisance. I'd rather have the resize function as part of the upload process.

I am sure that is the same one I am referring to.

I didn't know there were issues with inappropriate photos.

I made some changes, let me know if uploading larger pictures works.
