If you lived closer I might...however Ryan is just a few minutes away so I called on him for some help. I already have everything dismantled short of lifting the head off the block. This is a two man job so Ryan will come over one night this week so we can lift off the head, clean both surfaces, and replace the gasket and drop the head back on. I am taking Friday off to finish getting it back together. The plan is to be driving the car by Friday afternoon.

Head gasket..:( You shouldn't make jokes about rain...I just checked the extended forecast online and it says 30% chance for isolated thunderstorms for Saturday. Of course that could change. Oh brother!

At this point I would welcome rain. The alergies are tearing me up! Anyhow, the offer still stands Gene. Just let me know if you need a hand. I've got the Honda for the long trips across the valley and it gets great mileage!

Well what a Surprise...... Tony plans on a attending an event with other Mavericks and it is going to rain. Hmmmmmm, guse we all know who the cursed one is. Good thing nobody else brought a car out on Saturday or the show would have been cancelled and Tony wouldnt have got his 2nd place trophy.

Tony is so modest e would mention it himself. He also SAID he drove it to the show. I didnt look around to see a hidden trailer somewhere though.

I have got to tell you Ryan, the thing ran great coming home. Didn't stall once. For those who weren't there, I was very frustrated because the darned thing was stalling every time it came down to idle. I was at the point where a $3000 investment in fuel injection was only a credit card away! In the end, I think that I might have just had some old E85 that I had to run out of it. But like I said it did fine all the way home. It was almost a joy to drive.

Thanks Gene! I was really excited about it. We won one of the raffle items too. A $200 gift certificate for carpet cleaning. Given that I track dirt and grease all over the house, it made my wife happy!

Thats good news Tony, about the car and the carpet cleaning. Maybe you just need to drive the car more often to keep the fuel fresh. I know I can take that piece of advice myself.

Yeah, when I swapped the dual floats for the single I noted that some fuel had "gel'd" in the lower parts of the channels of the metering blocks. I cleaned that out of course, but I'm wondering if I had that same thing going on in the tank as well and it just got driven through the system.
