What is worth more ? The high back bucket seats complete with mav/comet tracks.. or should I scrap the seats and just sell the seat tracks ?

Depends on how good a shape the buckets are in. If they are in decent shape, I probably would not seperate them.

The seat pans/tracks are better off sold as a set, regardless of fabric condition...As long as the pans are not cracked in the corners at the seat back hinge point...They are easily restored/recovered...

I have a pair of high back buckets from a 71 Grabber with tracks and only one minor tear the size of a finger nail, These have not been sat in since around 2004. I wont be using them as its being built for racing. What are they worth to someone? Only problem would be the shipping as there in the UK.

    Regards

    Phil

PM me if anyone is intrested.

    Ken,
The seat frames are the same as 71-73 Mustang/Cougar and nobody repops those.

Someone will want those, if not for a Mav. Easier to ship if you disassemble them.

As stated, if the hinge mounting points are a weak point, and need to be looked at. Many Mustangs you see in the jy will be torn up there, especially if it was a modified car. The weight of the driver was always slamming into the seat back. The seat back may be leaning backward.

Another area to look at is the captured nuts in the seat bottom where the frame attaches to the seat tracks, especially at the back. These frequently get detached. A good way to fix them is to tack a nut to a fender washer, and then weld the washer to the frame, with the nut captured inside. This way the height stays correct for mounting the seat tracks.

Thanks for the info... I'm going to strip the seats and fix and paint what's needed, then put them up for sale... I figure leaving them apart will aid in shipping them... Now it's time to look around the net and see what is the going price for these... Thanks to all...
