Aren't the Carriage Works knock offs made for the Torque Thrusts? These have the entire cap that removes.

Nice choice! Can't wait to see them on the car, can't wait to see the car finished.

Here you go Glenn, if I'm thinking right the center of your wheels threads in and holds the lug cover. these thread in the same way and hold your existing lug cover then the knock off threads on to this new center pc. This is one together and one apart so you can see. There is a front and a rear set, the front 3-bars are a little shallower than the backs. These are made for Billet specialties, colorado customes and others where they use this center that holds the lug cover.

Believe me when I tell you that no one wants to see this car done more than me. Well, maybe my daughter. She's 10, her name is Hannah, my friends all call her Hot Rod Hannah! She loves cars and going to the shows with me. She and I spent four days last year at the Syracuse Nationals. Walked our feet off. I think she may have had more fun than me!

The car is progressing at a slower rate than I was hoping. Life gets in the way you know? The first of April I have another 32 Ford coupe coming my way for a complete paint job. Should only take a few months. That money will be the last I need to buy the remaining parts for the car. After that, I don;t want to hear about any side jobs until the Mav hits the streets,

I'm sure your daughter will be very pleased with the car. All you skilled body & paint guys never have a shortage of work, I know a guy that has a 56 Chev in his garage right now, that he can't get finished up soon enough..I think he may even have his daughter helping him :thumbs2:
I just wish I had more time to spend in the garage, usually this time of year, I'm slowing down at work, but not this year...we're swamped.

    Front valance progress......

I have been working away on the front valance a little bit in between other jobs in the garage. This job of blending a 69 Camaro valance with the 72 Maverick valance has proved a little more difficult than I expected. But I think the outcome has been worth the effort. It took a pretty fair amount of cutting and splicing to get it to all fit together and look like it came this way.

I also found a company that is making steel Camaro lower spoilers that have the same design that I am using on the rear Grabber spoiler. I love it when a theme is carried throughout a project. Now instead of having that notch/relief just in the rear of the car it will be balanced perfectly with the notch/relief in the lower front spoiler. Perfect!

My original plan was to weld up the square holes in the Camaro valance to smooth it out. Now I am starting to think that if I put a steel mesh behind them and some ducting they might work well for brake cooling? As a street car it probably will not be needed, but the look could be cool. Any suggestions????

That is really coming together nicely.:thumbs2: The lower spoiler almost looks like a stock mav lower valance turned over, of couse mini-ized, It goes well. Love watching your progress.(y)

Good eye!! I had not picked up on that, but it does have that look of an upside down stock valance. How funny.

    Thanks for the compliment!

It would be nice to even out the front bumper, remove the indented section on the underside...as long as you don't need to run a front license plate. But otherwise, awesome as usual!!(y)

Still thinking about that with the bumper. I may try it, they need to be chromed anyway.

I was going to take out that area of the valance, but I am going to leave it. That is where the front place bracket mounts, and since we are "supposed" to run front plates, and my kids are going to drive the car I figure better safe than sorry.

I never run a front plate on my "classic" cars and have never been bothered. But I am an adult, I am afraid a teenager driving without the plate would be more apt to get hassled.

Looks terriffic!!! But i would loose the square holes, they look out of place.Definitely fill the plate recess in the bumper. The line doesen flow well with it in place. Love the spoiler...It will balance out the look very well...:thumbs2:
You can allways mount the front plate to the left or right side of the valance...It doesnt have to be in the middle...

Looking good! My opinion would be to fill in the square areas and the area under the bumper as well, I think it would give it a nice clean look. Great work!
