    73 4 door turbo project

Well I got this car in 2005 when I was 14, my dad bought me this car for $200 so I could learn how to work on cars and do body work. It started out completely stock light green metallic with a 250 that had a bad miss. It now has a 302 with a cam and intake with powerjection. I have also rebuilt the trans, front suspension, rear suspension, and regeared to 3.80 with a locker. Well now I have decided it isn't fast enough so its getting a turbo now with homemade headers.

Great! Now have you decided how fast is fast enough?
How fast you want to go is proportional to how fat your wallet is.
Let us know how fast it becomes.:)

Almost finished with the right side header, should be done with it tomorrow. Does anyone know a good spark plug to run in a boosted 302?

Well I did not finish the other header tonight. I got side tracked trying to figure out how to run the cross over pipe, as the alternator gets in the way so its gonna go under it. Right now I wish I had a fox body things would be so much easier. Here's a pic of the header, not the best design but I think it'll work.

I say yay keep it, easier to tune the car with the turbo, just need a turbo hat. It would be setup the same way the the old powerdyne supercharger kits were setup on the 90's dodge and chebby trucks, right through the TBI.

Here is a chebby setup with a powerjection and a turbo

Those Falcon XB's are soo cool :thumbs2:

Yes I'm keeping the powerjection, I just hope its going to be enough. If not I'll be switching to multiport.

Started working on my crossover pipe, also had a buddy tig my wastegate flange to to a pipe. I'm a little worried that it may be too close to the fan but hope it will be ok with heat tape on it.

Almost finished with the hot side gonna try to finish it tomorrow. Ordered some 3" pipe to make the down pipe, need to order a V-band flange and clamp this week for it. Unfortunately this project is going to be put on the back burner, I'm buying a 96 mitsubishi eclipse gsx awd turbo that needs a head gasket. It's too good a deal to pass on a customer at work just put $2800 into it and is selling it for $2000. Plan is to flip it its very clean, one owner car. Hopefully some tuner buys it.

Got my supplies for my down pipe today, my original plan to run it between the front crossmember and the strut rod isnt going to work so I'm gonna have to get creative. The side project eclipse is almost done got the head off in 1.5 hours yesterday now just waiting for parts, hopefully I'll finish it tomorrow.

If you look at some of my old pictures on here you can see how my down pipe was ran (up around the towerin 3.5") when it had the 302

    What turbo is that?
