Mike came over. We finished connecting the tranny cooler lines & hung the exhaust. Just wanted to be able to test drive it. Took it on a good test drive. Put some fresh gas in it. What a great feeling. Drives & runs like a champ. Now I have to get it to an exhaust shop to redo the dual exhaust. WooHoo!!!! Thanks for all your help, Mike!!! Couldn't have done it so quickly without you...

    caprice lenses

I swapped my Impala lenses with new Caprice lenses. I like the Caprice lenses better. The new bezels should be here any day. Now to order a sequencer. Fyi, the lenses are NOT the same. I had to remove 2 tabs from each lense to get them in.

I like the Caprice lenses best :thumbs2:

There is a left and a right lense and bezel to a complete Caprice/Impala tail light set. Don't know why Chevy decided to do that since outwardly they look identical

I saw the difference in the right and left, its a tab on the bottom right. But there are 2 tabs on the top and bottom left that are in a different location from the Impala lenses.

Both of my bezels came off of the same car in a New Mexico junkyard and both had Impala lenses. My Caprice repop lenses came as a set in a sealed box. I took the Impalas out and popped the Caprices in. No tab removal. I'll have to get you a picture of the back of my lights.

Got my new (to me, not NOS) back seat arm rest panels by UPS. (Woo Hoo!) They are from a '73 Comet but they shld fit my "71 Maverick shld'nt they?? And allow me to add retractable seat belts in the back seat. A vast improvement over the originals which were crumbling to bits and pieces at the mere touch of a finger.

I seriously went through it for the first time with the rose colored glasses off.

Lets just say I am not in love with my car anymore... considering breaking up with it... As, the list of things its going to need fixed goes up and and my wallet goes down...with no hope of recovery. Damn you Obama!

So basically , I should learn to think before I leap...but wheres the fun in that! :bouncy:
