Hope I have this in the right section! On my 74 Maverick 2dr, there is a large " box " on the inside rocker panel that houses the seat belts. I want to remove it to lube up the roller assembly and there are no screws, just two " plugs " in the side of it. How do these come out? I don't want to bust this plastic trying to remove it! Again, Thanks Guys!!! Edit - I just discovered it's 3 plugs! I couldn't see the first one, but they don't seem to want to come out.
You have to pop out the plugs to get to the hex head bolts. Once the bolts are out you may have work to get it out...at least I did.
Thanks, I thought that they should just " pop " out, but mine want to be stubborn! I'll keep working at it. Maybe 2 small screwdrivers on opposing sides?
Craig, you are right! I managed to get them out without damage! I used 5 small screwdrivers, and kept slight pressure on all of them at once! Now the trick is the fasteners which just got some PB Blaster put to them and they're going to sit overnight. That's the trick to PB Blaster. Just give it time to work! I may change this seatbelt layout. I'll have to see if these are fixable or not first.
I usually am. The sooner you all realize it...the better off we will be. (this is a joke folks....tongue firmly planted in check)
i realize this is a old post but i couldn't resist only problem is you have to watch you don't bite your tongue while it is there
