Autokrafters did it for you allready...They sell a comprehensive weather stripping kit that gives you 90 percent of what you need to do the car.

I saw that, but I do not need all of the car, only the interior. I could not find all of the pieces around the door, that is why I asked.

Which pieces are you having trouble finding for the doors?

Looking at my car, I have a one piece that goes around around the door and window. Looking online @ auto Krafters, They show 1 piece around the bottom of my door, which I don't think I need, and a separate one for the window that I can not find. Then you have the other pieces on the door, like the window separator, and the little square jobby ( highly technical term) and any others that I might have missed.

The first one you mentioned, is it attached to the body? Sounds like the roof rail weatherstripping. http://www.autokrafters.com/v4/go.g...products&show_product_id=563451&product=31871

Window separator, maybe the beltline? http://www.autokrafters.com/v4/go.g...d=687&yearId=1972&&ACESSearch=1&product=31731

Take a look at each individual section here: http://www.autokrafters.com/v4/go.g...d=687&yearId=1972&&ACESSearch=1&product=31701

I think they sell everything you need... except the Quarter Window seals.

Thank you, that was very helpful. Now if they only make it in time...

The thing I don't get is why weather stripping costs so much, If they were lifetime, never need to replace...maybe... but yeah... I would rather spend it on something more useful right now lol.

Have you ever seen the equipment it requires to make the stuff. High dollar stuff.

Thanx all, If you knew from the start, just to get the set, then yes, it is the best way to go. Atlas I did not have that foresight. When I cleaned up my engine, I changed those, next the trunk...I am now looking at the headliner and that is what is causing all of this grief!!! With pulling the windows and all.So looking at the set I had most of them. Who knew the doors was the main pain in the spot.Seeing them all on one list was nice. thank you mercgt73 And yes I am now patiently waiting for the next batch of quarter windows seals.

I have seen the equipment they use...but that is like saying.. hey any mass manufactured part or component should be expensive.. as they use high end expensive tools to make them.. :rofl2:

Those machines are what it takes to just plain make the stuff, not necessarily 4,000 feet of it made on a daily basis. Hell, Coyote 5.0L engines are mass produced, so why are they $8k a piece?

Mass produced matches are cheap... but not everyone needs Ford Maverick passenger side roof rail weatherstripping on a weekly basis.

Here is a cool video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JTLW_6JyKOc

That is the point....nothing for a Maverick is mass produced now-a-days. Everything is short runs. Hence...more expensive and a longer wait time.

I talked to a few guys from Carpenter a few years ago, they were staying in the same hotel as I did in Columbus. They briefly considered making Maverick parts, but found the market was poor, and the support just wasn't there, He said the Pinto guys seemed to buy more. But then again that was probably around 2008, before everything tanked.

Yeah... I know... I am just crying like a child who can't have something they want, when they want it!

It's frustrating , knowing that the only car I have every liked/loved. Is such a expensive/hard to find/expensive parts whore :biglaugh:
Will make it all the more worthwhile in the end...so I hear :D

That being said,I just got some weather stripping from a bunch of different junked cars, gonna see if I can patch up a fix for now :hmmm:
