I am not sure what this hook looking wire is. I am assuming it is a sort of stop to keep the last bow from going forward.. And what I don't understand is the sharp hook part is pointing down when I lift it. Seems that would cut/poke something.. Also not sure how to connect it..
Did I get the pillar plastic corner pieces in correctly? Looks like they only go one way but just making sure.

The hook holds the rear bow towards the back of the car.

The bows are on the floor in order.. The liner is laying out open. I feed the bows first then?...

    pillar corner is correct.
put the bows in the headliner, put it in the car. the sharp hooks go over the last bow.
when gluing the headliner in, work your way from front to back.

Is it possible to put the bows in the liner and put the bows in the holes and only glue the front and let that set up before working the rest? Or do I have to work the whole thing in in a complete start to finish fashion?

I put all the bows in, and clipped the entire headliner with clothes pegs and let it sit for a couple of days, then readjusted it a few times before I glued it in.

Good idea. I am glad you mentioned the cloths pins. My wife was throwing away a big bag of them last summer and I snaged them for this and I forgot. I gotta find them now..
Do you think vinyl top glue will work? I have a 4 year old unopened gallon..

Several setbacks today :(. I had stretched out the liner to let the folds release. I went back out later to find it had some paint marks on it. I cleaned it the best I could. Luckily it took the scrubbing and didn't rip or tear like an old one would have. I'll live with the results..
I took down my gallon of vinyl roof top glue and I guess I left it too long :(. It was down to about 1/3 remaining and has also hardened :(. Guess I need to order another gallon Monday.
It took awhile to get the first bow fed through. I decided to buff the tip of the rest of the bows smooth and they pushed right through.
Do I hook the liner on the teeth on the quarter sides? Last?

Never heard of it but I can ask around. Where are you talking about applying it?

Two things Gene- First, get the 3M Spray Adhesive, there are two kinds, one for light fabrics, and one for heavy fabrics. Get the one for heavy fabrics. Follow the directions on the can! It works best if you spray both the headliner and the pinch welds, then let both dry at least five minutes. If you don't, it will try to squirm and slide.
Second, clothes pins are good, but wern't good enough in my case. I ended up using vise grips and metal spring clips along with the clothes pins in between. The cloths pins didn't have enough tension to hold by their selves.

Oh yeah, like was stated work front first, then each door side, then rear, finishing up with the rear quarter windows then the gripper strips last. Or it might have been gripper strips, then quarter windows, I have forgot which I did.

Take your time, and don't forget to put all the screws in their original holes, the visior screws, coat rack screws, dome light, etc. If you don't put them in before you start gluing the headliner, you'll never find them again! A razor X cut after the headliner is glued in will get them exposed again. You'll be able to find them by the humps.

Thanks for the tips. I was thinking that I don't want those coat hanger thingys. I guess I can put the screw in and not actually cut it there unless I change my mind.

I wonder if a piece of card board to spread more surface load at the point of pinch is too much thinking..
