I pulled the ol Mav out of the garage today and gave it a bath and vacuumed it out then I customized some lug nuts so I could put the factory slotted mags back on again, since I have 3 " wheel studs I had to cut the ends of the lug nuts off some so the studs would come through the open end. I love the factory slotted mags just wish they made them in 15".

Thinking about putting stock hood back on just to give it the stock look again

I did the same with my lug nuts..worked out great, did it about 3 weeks ago. I have 15" slotted mags for my car. 14" on the front not sure of the offset but it's not much if any, 15" for the rear that are 8" wide and 4"BS, then another set of 15" for the back that are 8.5"? wide and 3.75" BS (fit absolutely amazing)

OLERODDER...Thanks for the suggestion, where can I get this Pushrod tester? You reckin' Comp Cams or Summit sells them or just a local speed shop here in Bastrop, Texas? I was plannin' on pullin' all of the pushrods in this 302 and checkin' for uniformity and to ID the correct lenght. Comp Cams offers the 6.881 and the 6.9 inch lengths. kafrompa "Garv"

If you have a good speed shop near you they should have this. Summitt or Jegs depending on where you are carry them and if you are like me, when I order from Summitt I get it the next day most of the time.

I just checked the two (2) pushrods recommended for the K31-238-3 cam kit that I intend to use, they are the 7831-16 (6.881" X 5/16") and the 7631-16 (6.900" X 5/16") they show a difference of 0.019", this difference appears to me to be small enough that the 0.019" can be compensated for in adjustment. What do you think?
    PS: I haven't built a HOT engine since 1974 (389 in a 1965 GTO w/ an Isky 550 cam)

With Frank and Jeff's help, fixed ignition problem. Found a skinned wire touching the case of the alternator, and reseated all the connections. Runs good, just hope it stays that way.
