If you cant put it down on a new 9" tire then you have suspension problems

This is something thay greatly varies from one car and tire to another

    M/T smaller slicks (under 10.5W) i run between 10-15
    M/T radials i run 15-18
And my hoosier radials really like 20-25 psi

Since we are on the subject of slicks, I run a 26x8.5x15 M/T what difference should I expect by changing to a taller tire, I have a pretty consistant 1.60 60', no wheel spin unless track is greasy. I need new slicks but dont want to shell out the bucks for a taller tire if it is going to hurt performance. 4.00 gears tight 4,000 stall converter

I would think you would be able to leave a little harder yellow75.

I swaped slicks with my son just to see what it would do. I run 28X10 M/T. He has 26X9 M/T. Same ET with in .005 but 400 more RPM on top. I was suprised no differance. Made the 2 passes with in 30 minutes of each other.

Did you happen to record your speeds also? Maybe you were faster in the first half and gained less than you normally would have in the second half.

What were the sixty foot times? I would still think you could launch a little harder with the larger tire. Possibly not enough power (not knowing how much power your car has) to be near the limits of either tire?

I just wondered about the radials since I have never used them. On my M/T's (31x13x15) I run 12-15

MPH was off by 1 and the 60 ft was the same. I think i was getting everything out of the motor it had. Bigger tires were easier on the motor.

Each inch of tire is worth 200-300 rpm...60 ft depends on a lot of factors...stage..rollout and of course what rpm your leaving the line at!

Have tried 3 of the major brands. 32x14 drag only slicks.

Goodyear...sidewalls were DONE long before the tread was ever even broken in. Consistency went away.

M/T...worn out in no time (tread and sidewalls). Wouldn't hold air more than a day or so. Even soaped they wouldn't stay up more than a week.

Hoosier...still using them. Get about 230-240 passes out of them then the cords are starting to show through. That's the point at which they start getting inconsistent. Sidewalls never really go away. Hold air for years unless they have a screw, nail, bolt, or piece of glass in them. 13.5/31.5-15 C07. 60's in the high 1.20's and low 1.30 range.

Just what works for me. Back when I ran 10.5's, we ran M/T's. They worked. The car was never real consistent then anyway..compared to what it was the last time I had it on the track (about 6 mos ago). Those never held air either. Soap helps but they still go down. After a good rain and if the car was outside, you'd see bubbles of soap on the sidewall. They leak THROUGH the sidewalls. Everyone I've asked about it said the same thing. Some cars like the M/T's. Some cars didn't agree. Some guys have great luck with GY's. And some have good luck with the Hoosiers. Have to experiment to find what works for YOUR car.
