Has anyone got a set of turbine style wheels on there Maverick? I found a set on CL but would sure like to see a picture or two of these wheels on a Maverick before I make the hour+ ride to look at them. Thanks allot.
There have been a few posts asking the same question, did you try the search? or look in the gallery?
Found em I think they look great. Now if I can just talk the guy down on the price a little I'll be in business
Anyone know what brand wheels are shown in the picture above? I really want to find something like this for my Mav. Definitely gives a different look than everyone else's Cragar /American Racing torq thrust looking wheels.
Lot's of brands made them in the 70's Appliance, ET, some others...why not just go to wheelcollision.com and purchase a set for a 1979 Z28 or 82-86 std camaro? Sure you will need a spacer to correct the bolt pattern and you can get universal center caps from Summitt -but there what your looking for, refinished new & not used, and only $130 a piece.
Rocket also made a turbine wheel lik eon Tody's car. I had them on my car back in the day. I liked them except that they were 14". Heres some on ebay too http://www.ebay.com/itm/E-T-TURBO-T...PPLIANCE-ROCKET-USED-/190667661337#vi-content
I believe that Western is another brand that produced turbines back in the day. "Hurricanes" came in a couple different spoke styles, too. Here is a dealer in vintage wheels ..... http://www.akhwheels.com/pages/inventory.php?cat=1 Search "Dukes of Hazzard" for wheels like what Tody is showing. Those are American Racing Vectors ... they used those on the General Lee. I was actually looking for a set for my 1998 Explorer Sport before settling on a type of wheel. I thought the chunky-look of those wheels would go great with it, and give it a unique vibe.
