Surprised you didn't get the "Isn't that the car from Fast and the Furious"
I got that one 3 times this month so far.

    Grille Support

The plastic grille support that mounts in the center of the Comet grille finally bit the dust. It was cracked when I got the car and me removing the grille several times to make various mods/upgrades did'nt help. After 40 yrs of survival in the elements and the car had been in an accident somewhere in that timeframe - I suppose - one cud'nt expect much more.
I had some scrap metal laying around that fit the bill perfectly, did'nt have to do too much in the realm of fabrication. Still have the finishing touches and paint. Anyway, in a few hrs I put it together and I don't have to worry abt one less issue...:yup:

Finally got it up on blocks (with no untoward occurrances this time!) and pulled all the wheels. Scored some original 14" hub caps on e-bay. Made a parts list for brake job all the way around (shoes, not discs yet) and ordered parts.

Went and looked at a 74 comet 6cyl with disks... Rotted out beyond belief.. Has some good parts, hood is the only good body panel somehow.. And interior is decent but is a bench car and just not worth the 1200 sticker on the window.. No way I'd recover that. I actually dont think i could get 400 bucks back out of it.. And that 400 is including the parts I want lol.

Pushed it outside. Cleaned the garage. Pushed it back inside.

Gave her a bath. Went to a small, local show with about 2 dozen cars.
Left some rubber on the pavement and smoke in the air.:D

Got my $20.00 (plus shipping) original 14" hubcaps (purchased on e-bay) by fedex today. Can't find a single scratch or dent anywhere on them! They look like NOS.. I can't see anything to indicate they have ever been used. Can't believe they went that cheap... just gotta get the wheels they'll fit on now!

Got that link so I can see the hubcaps?
I paid 90 for mine...and they were only 75% or so. Needs some polish, and paint.
