    Does your car have power steering? If yes, is there too much play in the control valve? I rebuilt a Mustang one a couple of decades ago and, if I recall correctly, you can adjust the excess play out of control valve..

    To be honest I'm not sure it was done before I got the car... Based on previous exp I would say the power steering pump was just removed probably nothing else.

    if the cylinder is still there, that could be the play you mentioned...:yup:
    I did mine that way the first time and it had too much slop for me. then I replaced it with a manual drag link and pitman arm...:thumbs2:

    I believe there is a drop in upgrade, I was doing some research the other night and came across an old article that alluded to it. At some point I was going to do some more research to see if I could figure out exactly by part #'s what they did. The articles name is "Tricks With A 6" and I believe it appeared in Hot Rod Magazine in April 1969 (not 100% sure, but I think that's where it came from).

    I will look at getting the manual drag link and Pittman arm... I'm sure that will help a lot and adjusting the steering box should help a little more if necessary after the manual link... Interesting about the mustang swap

    If ONLY the power steering pump was removed and the rest of the power steering components are still on the car...I stand by my statement.
