76 Maverick Stallion.....

    so after a bunch of sanding.....it was time to tack the support frame under the hood..........

    a test fit on the 76........some tweeking and we will be good.......now to weld the under hood support in for good...very hot today......

    had to fashion up a prop rod.......none were around at the parts yard....I might have to see if one off a Granada will work........another little system on the machine is now back together.....:drive: as I look at the pic. man its dirty and rusty.......sorry folks............have to clean............maybe that can be side project #4..:cry:

    Did a inspection of the brakes and everything is going to have to be replaced....Ugh......:hmmm:

    started to clean up the front cross member..........its in great condition.........now the trick is figure out the best way to graft it in to the 76........

    the next Big thing to tackle is the rotten crossmember.......I figured out how it is to be cut out......it is a jigsaw puzzle........:cry:

    this is the front cross member I just cut out..........Sad..........:mad:

    man im really enjoying this...your doing great work...first thread i check when i get on...the front cross member should be a breeze after doing the back half of the car..good luck

    well guess what I found under the battery tray.....another hole.....thats why the car is so light..........found my side project # 4:huh:

    got the new crossmember fit into position.....this was pretty easy....I am going to match it up to the measurements that I took of the old one...then its welding time...:dancing:

    this looks alot better then the pic.of this part a few pages back........yep....got to paint the valance...:cry:
