    maiden voyage

I took my sons 74 comet on its maiden voyage to the auto parts store today AAAAND BROKE DOWN! we bought he car maybe a month ago at the most and hes been messing around with it just about daily. (y)

today we bled the brakes and got them working properly and the car runs decent so we decided to go to autozone:dance:. well the friggin thing broke down around the corner from home::cussing: it acted like it ran out of gas:huh:. since we hadnt ran the car on gas from the tank until today I thought the lines were plugged. we rigged a gallon can of gas under the hood running right off the fuel pump. well when we get it home we find a BIG hole in the gas line so we cut the bad part from the line and stick the hose back on. and vwalla it was running off the gas in the tank. (go figure right?):thumbs2:

ok now its time to try again. we get a couple short blocks from home and I realize the front end is WORE OUT! it was wondering all over the road.:character0182: then the friggin thing started sounding like it was doing a burn out from the tires being pigeon toed out so bad it looked like it just came back from a car hopping contest.:rofl2:
I was worried about getting pulled over for drunk driving the car wondered so much.
so no more driving the car until the front end is replaced.

Yanked that stupid mini spool out so the car will be easier to move around. Trailer should be available this week to load it up and move it to it's temporary home. It'll spend a few months at my brothers while we wait for our house to get finished. Once it's done it will be the center of attention in our new 5 car garage!

I got the Comet on the flatbed trailer to go to the shop tomorrow so he could work on it while we are at the Gathering. Then got the Grabber out of the trailer and into the garage. Hope to clean the trailer some tomorrow and put the 70 inside to get ready to leave for the Gathering on Friday. Hopefully they will call tomorrow and say that my truck is finished. It's still at the dealer 200 miles away.:)

I polished my lower turn signal lenses. It was amazing that there were no nicks or cracks in the plastic. The rest of my front end was all beat up. I figured if I do a small project every day, in 2-3 years I'll be on the road again.
