after four long days...Hinges base plates: done!! alignment of the hood: Done! plug all the holes left over: Done!
thats awesome i think i would put tail lights from the u.s. mavericks in it just to stand out over there as there is a lot of mavericks running around there
They have the same tail lights there as the US style tail lights, in fact that style of tail lights makes up the majority of the tail lights on the mavericks they have down there. The different tail lights that you see were only in the last couple years of the cars production down there.
I contacted the individual that makes the hood hinges and he tells me they are plug and play. Looking at your posts they do not look anywhere close to plug and play. Do you have to modify the hinge mounting area under the hood to get these to fit correctly? Thanks
when I bought he tells me they are plug and play also..but many mods are necessary for sure..a lot work..we spend 4 entire days changing place of holes..both, hinges and body...filling with metal the base plate, hood alignment .. a lot work! but now i think was worth it If you are thinking of installing in a running car , I do not know if it's worth ... but if you're building one, as is my case, perhaps it is.
Why didn't you create a billet insert (aluminum spacer), instead of cut and weld? It came out super nice in the long run, just curious if you had thought of creating the spacer and then gave upon the idea for some reason?
LOL ... a LOAD!! I did not do an insert because the wall is not a right angle .. is a bit skewed. and would be more complicated set the correct angle .. without putting in some insert shims. and also I wanted to leave "as if" original
