I just picked up a set of early under bumper turn signals. They are pretty beat up but cheap enough. I've got a NOS set of lenses for them, and a little cleanup and paint should have them looking ok. My question is. Is this how they are supposed to look? It seems like they will be partially obscured once bolted to the bumper. I know the one with the hole in the lens is slightly mangled, but the other one doesn't look to bad, although I don't have anything to compare them to.
Yes, they both came with pigtails. The bucket on the ugliest one looks pretty corroded though. I plan on taking them apart and getting a closer look later today.
Looks like the #3 needs to be leveled like the other one. After you put the screws through the hanger on the bumper you will see how they hang. The valance is close but you can move it a bit to make it level/fit better. I believe the visual aspect is why they moved the turn signals up to the grille the later models. I also believe the clear ones like you have are from the earliest models-69 1/2 through maybe some of the 71s. 72 had the yellow signal lenses if Im not mistaken.
