Today I made a pattern for fan to radiator mounting brackets..... I removed the fuel bulkhed nut I put in because with the turbo stuff it was goint to be a little too close to the heat for my taste, I will figure out where to locate it after I get everthing back in place..... Next I marked where the filter hole should go through the apron and I removed the turbo stuff so I could work on the front apron..... I trimmed up the apron opening, then I made a repair panel and tacked it in place..... I put the turbo back in place and put the air filter on to check clearance around it..... The fileter went through the hole nicely and the filter just touched the repair panel at the big end, and the turbo housin just touches on the side of the repair panel..... So I removed everthing and clearanced for the turbo and filter, then put it all back in to check the clearance..... It all looked pretty good now..... Now I know the clearances are good I will finish the panel after I get the mock up motor and everthing out of the way..... Here's the fuel bulkhead nut I removed..... I will be using the alt pulley that is on it now and I have a crank pulley I made that is 5" diameter, there will be a belt around these 2 only..... I use an electric water pump drive with the cog pulley that is on the waterpump now..... For almost 3 years my day job is restoring classic/building custom and muscle cars..... Before that this was a just a hobby I have been doing for the last 32 years since I was just 14 years old working on cars with my father.....

I got the an fittings welded on the radiator this week..... I also made some mounting brackets for the electric fan..... Today modified the water neck to get the correct angle for the upper hose fittings and made the upper hose..... Now for the problem, the water pump inlet and lower hose outlet fitting on the radiator are too close together and I can not make the hose work without getting in the way of the altermator belt..... Look like I may have to go to a Meziere radiator mounted electric water pump..... Here's the radiator with the fittings welded on, then the fan mounting brackets on the fan and mounted on the radiator..... Here's the water neck modified, then welded and mounted with the upper hose in place.....
I worked on moving the fuel feed line since now it would be a little too close to the wastegate..... I also had someone drop off an 8.8 rearend side job today(it gets straightend, welded, braced, Strange 33 spline spool/axle package and some Aerospace brakes set up on it)..... Here is the old fuel line location..... Here is the new fuel line location..... Here is the side job.....
This week I got the water pump mounting plate and a -10 heater return fitting welded to the radiator..... Today I milled .150 off the water pump mounting face on the timing cover for a little estra fitting clearance..... Then I tapped the timing cover plate 3/4"npt for the water line fittings..... I assembled the radiator/fan/water pump for mock up purposes once again..... Then Itried to layout what fittings I will need..... Here's the milled timing cover and the tapped cover plate, then these parts assembled..... Here's the fittings welded on the radiator and the radiator assembly..... Here's everything mocked up in the car.....
Now you've done it ... you have TOO much room there ... time to add another power adder ... Very Slick solutions... I like it.

Figured out what additional fittings I should need to get the water pump hooked up..... I opend the hole ahere the air filter goes through the right apron so I will be able to remove the filter from under the hood, also mocked up a shield for the filter I am making..... Not alot of other stuff I could do until I get the water hoses made and get the mock up motor out of the engine compartment..... So next I got the Gas tank and straps out so I could cut the straps down to fit the Mustang tank conversion properly..... I shortened the straps by drilling the spot welds out of the reinforcements at the hook end, then shortening the strap and plug welding the reinforcement back on in its new position..... That was it for this weekend..... Here's what the hole in the right apron looks like now..... and here's the reinforcement drilled out and removed, then plug welded/reattached.....
