    Put a new trunk latch in yesterday. It broke at the Gathering car show. I had to tie it shut to get back to the motel. Just went out a few minutes ago and took it out of the trailer. Ran great back at the Gathering. Got a little over 300 miles on the new engine now. :)

    If you get a chance I'd sure like to see a picture of that. Just never seen or heard about a "flange", unless you mean a spacer. Is it all one piece?

    I always thought they used them on the outside of the pan like the old flathead V8's. Learn something new everyday.
    Thanks,
    John

    I don't think it's the pump this time...everything...switched on power...was off. I wiggled the ing. switch plug and it would run. I have a new one, I will stick it on tomorrow and see if that's it. I bought it a few months ago when I had another problem...:bouncy:

    Thanks for the clarification, now I see.

    Thanks for the picture, now I understand..............just have never seen that
    on newer V8's before.
    Here is a reference to Fred Jones, sounds like he was a shop that remanufactured motors in the 90's. Here is an article;

    Cleaned up under the hood some more. Painted the Valve cover and air cleaner with VHT wrinkle finish (Baked it in the oven for an hour - now the house smells nice). Will start ripping the one barrel stuff off the engine tomorrow and begin the 2 barrel swap.
