I doubt they will be in the works until after Summer. We have several other projects underway that do not involve cars. My business is in the field of Aluminum Stall Components and that must come first always. When I can find some time for "MY" personal interests then we'll see what we can come up with along with a couple of other projects for Cars that we have in mind. I'll advise everyone when I have something "concrete" in the works or when they're available for purchase. :) Cometized

    Louvers for Mavericks and Comets

I have a beautiful set of louvers for the rear glass and quarter windows that I'm not going to be using. They are complete and in MINT condition. Actually I had all three pieces powder coated, satin black. And yes they are very rare and exspensive. I purchased the rear louvers right here from this site years ago, the side louvers I purchased from Brazil.

1350.00 for all three louvers, and I know that's enough to chock a horse, but thats right what I have in them with cost, shipping, powder coating, and such.

I think that is a more than fair price to pay for some parts that you may not ever see up for sale again

I hope you've cleaned yourself up by now. Hey, I understand, I paid out the nose for these parts when I got them, (supply and demand) always dictates price of anything. These rear louvers were manufactured years ago and in very small production run. They were exspensive then and even more now, because they just arn't readily available anywhere. Well I'll break it down for ya, this is what I spent.
    Rear window Louvers---------------850.00
    Quarter window louvers------------160.00
    Reconditioning and powder coating--225.00
    Total-----------------------------1235.00
None of these louvers are plastic. If you want louvers on your Maverick or Comet it's not going to happen for pennies my friend.

i knew i was very lucky to get my louvers for a fairly reasonable price.
still had to ship them around the globe, though.
if you like the look of them, they're worth every penny!

So there is no hope. How sad. Imagine how fast a company could make their money back with a plastic set of louvers for mavericks. I bet they would sell a few hundred sets in a month!

Don't know if I'd go that far.. but we sure won't hold our breath for anything to come along sooner than later.

I consider myself to be pretty talented with custom parts and even glass work.. but I'm going to be adding that mod WAYYYY down the list of things I want on my car. Hopefully by then someone else will have molded or tig welded something up for us and I won't have to bother with it.

I think the biggest issue with making them is that the fully slatted versions won't clear the trunklid opening and need to have that lower slat removed for clearance issues. I really like the look of the full versions and will have a pin on rear lid anyways so that's where I'll be heading with my design. Sure would be much easier to mod anothers clipped off design than work from scratch though. lol
