Got a 302 for free. So taking it apart to see how it stands... depending on cost/parts I will rebuild this and swap out the 200cid.
I am assuming the c4 auto will work still, just would need new motor mounts?
Considering buying ford 8 inch rear end dropped out out of 1971 ford maverick
has 4.10 gear ratio with mini spool. Guy wants $250 for it.

After fixing the broken starter we pulled the car into the garage and started ripping all the external parts of the engine. Finished cleaning all the areas that were previously inaccessible and masked off all the parts we are not removing for this project. Painted the exhaust with some hi-temp black exhaust paint (eventually we will put a header on). Painted the block, removed all the masking tape and the boy is sanding the ribs on the valve cover and carb hat. It is hot and humid today, but we had a good time working on the car.
