Nope to the 6cylinder C4, just need a V8 C4. A C6 is just too big and you may have to redo the tunnel area......................................................not sure, but I'd forget about the C6, just stick with the V8 C4.

    Umm yeah better. :tiphat:
    I was like oh crap ... I need a c6 now:rofl2:
I have a bell housing already... was sitting in my dads garage no clue what it came off...been there for 30+ years.

He doesn't remember, and since it could of been there longer than I have been alive...who knows. So... I think I could just do a 302 swap?

So tempted to sell the car and buy one already built....but that wouldn't be as fun as annoying Frank :burnout:

I was told by a local Ford Dealer mechanic that the I6 250 and the V8 Windsor would interchange. I've got one of each, I'll compare and advise.

Thank You, I assume the I-6 170 and 200 will also interchange. Is there any differance in the transmissions themselves from the I-6 250 and the V8 windsor, maybe more springs in the clutch packs, more clutches in the clutch packs, heavier clutch bands or differant shift points? (looks like the 250 would have higher shift points) I'm going to "beef-up" my 302 and I don't want the C4 to let me down. I also plan on keeping the stock torque converter thet came on the 1968 302 out of a Fairlane, any suggestions?

Forget about it putting it all up on craigs... if I have to get a new c4 might as well do a Windsor not a 302. :drive:
