Got the rear tires mounted up yesterday. They are only 3/8" wider and 1/4" taller but it sure looks bigger than that.

By measuring the backspacing with the tires mounted, the calculated spacer thickness needed comes to 2-1/8" but that moved the wheel too far out in the wheel well and would cause rubbing problems. In order to move the tire in enough to minimize outside rub problems, I got the spacer size to 1-3/8". This gives about 3/16 of an inch clearance to the front inner wheel housing. Its going to be VERY tight. I should be able to BFH it into fitting from there though.

I think the cause is that, yes the circumference is only a little larger but, due to the lower profile tire, the widest part of the tire was moved out closer to the edge thus reducing clearance greatly to the 2 areas mentioned above.

    Looks freakin insane! :thumbs2:
And those two "areas" mentioned above also travel up and down so take that BFH with you when you go drive it haha :)

I hope you are keeping up with parts number for the rest of us that's bringing up the rear, like me. LOL. This thread is great. I'm ready to see how the front is going to turn out. With the drop spindle used, did you also used a lowered coil over or is it just the standard height? My car is lowered about 2 inches with factory type aftermarket springs but I would like to use the drop spindle too. May end up being to low though.

.... and a flap wheel for the inner fender lip. :16suspect

Part numbers? Whats that? Im terrible about keeping up with parts info. I really should keep a log book with part numbers and details like that.

I've got coil-overs. I estimate my drop to be about 4 inches from stock (whatever that is?) I will not be using the spindles to lower the car further than it sits now. Once installed I'll lengthen the coil-overs about 2" to get it back to it current ride height.

Getting the front spacing just right is rather tedious. I cant seem to find the sweet spot.

I cannot roll them out. I can roll them in to move the wheels out maybe a 1/4" if needed but I dont really think that is necessary.

I think the rear looks great where it is. I just cant seam to get the front to line up so that it matches. Too many variables to take into acct... Ride height, track width, travel, turn radius, turn radius under bump, camber, lack of camber... I just need to pull the trigger. I'll move the other stuff out of the way later.

the back looks awesome, the front does too. I thought you had clearance issues. Let us know when you get to test it out. best of luck.

The wheels look great! I didn't think it was possible to go as wide as 265 front or 295 rear. especially with 18's. Is your car mini tubed. I'm also going with 18's so let us know how it turns out.
