Just for curiosities sake what do you guys think my Maverick should run in the quarter I have no track or even many straight roads where I am at. The engine is a carbed roller dynoed at 332 horse at 6200 332 ft lbs at 4600 t5 trans 9" with 4.11,s trak lok 28x10.50 Mickey Thompson Sportsmans slapper bars and sub frame connectors car does hook well. Never weighed car but I am sure some of you have a good Idea what it weighs.
Somewhere in the 13's. Hard to say without knowing what it weighs. Or what carb and heads. If there all stock, maybe in the low 14's.
I'm betting 12's, if it's that much at the rear wheels, maybe faster. Figure 3000#'s with you in it. My Mustang is a 460, and think it's around 360hp, and is 3300#, goes low 12's Have some fun with this http://www.wallaceracing.com/Calculators.htm
I just did an hp/weight to time and mph for a car I used to own and it was pretty close. The calculator said my car went 15.57@86.05 and the car actually went 15.50@85.82 so very close(this was in a turbo eclipse not my mav) With the mav its saying I should run a 11.25@119 based on other turbo 5.0 hp on the same psi, although close with the eclipse traction was not an issue(AWD) like it will be with the mav.
you can always save up a little cash and head over to mission raceway for a street car night..its like 35 bucks i believe..but the ferrys will prob kill you a bit...but then you will really know for sure...i wont make it there this season..as my car will be off the road next month for some bodywork/suspension mods..if you are nervous about maybe heading over there alone you could wait till next season and come over with a few of us..
Holley 650 competition series E7 heads with probably more work done than aftermarket heads would cost (done by former owner) has 2.02 valves ported E303 cam Mav is 69.5 if that helps with weight
Ferry not as bad for me as you I can leave for free only pay to go home. Would like to go next season with some others at least if you break got some help
with that gear and tire.. my guess is.. high 12's.. if you leave and shift it right. that's not a lot of power.. but the car is light.
With that carb and heads I'd say 12's. Maybe faster if you get it sorted out. I think you might have a hard time on the line until you get used to it or install a line lock. Main thing is to go and have fun.
Well.............my guess is low 13's to high 12's.................300+hp at the rear wheels is pretty go, so I guess it just depends on how comfortable you are with the car and the strip. Leave it to Frank to come up with 10's...................
Still thinking low-mid 12's... My old Maverick was a 302, 351W heads, 11.1, .520/.542 hyd cam, C6 (very power-ET robbing!) 4.11 rear, 60' was terrible due to the C6 (among other things) But still went 12.90's, with big mph. It went 11.40 on a 175 shot, all on L60-15 Pro Trac Street Pros, nothing like todays "sticky" tires. All over 20 years ago. I think your trans will help the ET.
