Something along the lines of sh!t would be circumventing the rules.

Something along the lines of @#%& is open to interpretation and the context in which it was used would be taken into account.

Not everything is black and white and the moderators work very hard to keep everything in balance. Please make our job easier by being respectful, tolerating others and keeping this forum a friendly place to visit. :)

As I have said in the past, 99% of members already follow these rules - even before the forums had rules! All or at least most of the rules were a result of a small percentage of members who did not respect others and though they could do whatever they want.

I agree with you and since I have been on this forum I have not been offended by anything anyone has said. It's a good job you have done here and most people are respectful, but one person made a comment about a month ago and I was really surprised that they said it in this day and age, but I wasn't offended. I did notice that his post was immediately removed and guarantee it probably offended quite a few people. That definitely deserved an infraction. We don't need to be on here dropping the F bomb, but some people need to realize that words like ass(as already stated) and hell, among others, are not "bad" words.

What every one of these rules amounts to is being courteous to your fellow Maverick/Comet owners. Nothing more than that.:)

The #1 definition is: Any of several hardy gregarious African or Asian perissodactyl mammals (genus Equus) smaller than the horse and having long ears; especially: an African mammal (E. asinus) that is the ancestor of the donkey.
Others said it was ok too, why no response to them? You may find it insulting, but that doesn't make it a "bad" word. There are tons of words people may find insulting, but once again, that doesn't make them "bad". Everybody knows what swear words shouldn't be used on here, but some people have to take it to the extreme and pretty soon we won't even be able to say "gosh darn it". The FCC has guidelines for tv and radio, so any word used on regular tv(not cable) or radio should be ok to use here.

You guys read too much into this, it's more of a refinement of the rules to deal with people that think they have found an indirect way around the rules, just like society, rules (laws) are constantly changing.
We all know, we can't get along all the time, but we try, and people have made some great friends from here, not necessarily me....but I do know of others...It is what it is.

I thought we were having a discussion about the definition of one of the rules.

Nevermind! I actually just figured out the problem with this discussion, but I'll keep it to myself.:D
