That's a good price if they are furnishing the material and doing the install. If they do the job right - I don't see how u can go wrong. We are talking a bench seat?
yea he furnishing all the materials, and yes its a bench seat i decided to put the original seats back in....
well the back seat is in perfect conditon so i took the back seat with me and he took his book of samples and match up the color, interior was ginger (not ginger now after 40 years) but we matched it so the front will look 90-95 percent like the back seat.. if it doesnt turn out right then i will just get the back seat done also... hopefully i can save some money and just get one seat done
I paid $500.00 for the materials for both seats and did the install myself. Whoever is doing ur work is giving u a vry gud deal IMO.
I was told around 300 and that's a good business acquaintance . That includes everything. Materials and foam and spring repairs if needed. So yes I would say your doing well at 250
I paid $530.00 to have the covers made for the 2 front buckets and the back seat. I then bought new foams for the front seats, new backs, and new lever handles. I then paid $200.00 to have them installed by a local upholsterer. I have close to $1,000.00 to create the closest NOS restoration job I possibly could do.
I had a set of those seats and they were like sitting on the floor pan...swapped them out for a set of LDO seats. they were great on an 11 day 3300 mile road trip... $588... buckets, back seat and door panels... post#14 http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=74466&page=2
all of my interior is out but my upholstery guy took out the headliner and redid EVERYTHING headliner visors dash pad seats carpet rear widow pad? going over two bucket seats in the front the back and the side panels in the back seat are going to be covered hes making me door panels out of aluminum diamond plate he will prolly also be making the shifter box from the diamond plate. hes also going to install dynomat carpet and put in all of the interior. I paid him right around $1300 labor and material except the diamond plate cost me $65 for a 4x8 sheet he said he charges like $400 for a bench seat alone usually labor and material included
I think thats a VERY good price, based even on the work Ive seen in my local area. I did the seat covers for my Mav myself (been sewing since I was a kid), and the final tally just for my materials was about $225.
I had my front bench redone for 600... Fast Ed's in Gardena,CA. he's been on "Overhaulin" and he fixed broken springs and repainted the frame before recovering.. also I had him modify the track 7" back so I can get my giraffe legs in.. His work is stellar not a single wrinkle... like a tailor.
