Sticking Speedo

    Anybody have any idea..
    My speedo sticks at 0 off the line.. no reading.. sometimes. I give the dash a bang with the palm of my hand and then its fine. I recently removed the entire cluster to get at the heater controls, and carefully disassembled everything so as to paint the inner reflective areas glossy lime green..relaced the dash lights 194"s with 168's the brightest...(big improvement; no melt downs) very carefully reassembled all. I checked the speedo cable and it seems to be in all the way... never a glitch at speed or once it starts again. anybody been down this road?? thanks

    I would think it would be something to do with when you plugged it back into the cluster..... the cable has a squared end on it that might not be seated.:yup:
    did the outer cable lock break when you removed/replaced the cable nut?

    I would also go with the cable not plugged in all the way in the back of the cluster.

    I thought so too... there is no nut, just a plastic spring clip..I tried pulling it out and pushing it in again...still hanging up of the line.. ugh!
