Desert Mavericks.......Sand Box

Hey Gene I got my Maverick running last night. Only took 6 months to get a new MSD box and swap it out. I was getting worried that youd get your car running before me but I barely pulled it off.

 

Darn...you beat me. I should have mine running either this weekend or next. Time to start planning the fall meet!

 

Huh...I started pulling my transmission. Why does mine only run when everyone elses doesn't?

 

Could be why you arent invited to the meets?

 

Ryan is just mad that Tony ran out of lube.

 

Well, I had a productive weekend. Pulled the tranny out of the car and discovered that there was a problem with my shifter keeping it from going into first gear. That's a relief since I really didn't want to have to tear into the transmission to find the issue. While it was out I clearanced the trans tunnel a bit (BFH). And I installed the correct speedometer gear. So I should be accurate once again!

Then I went with my youngest son to Speedworld and he raced his 2000 Firebird for the first time. He ran a best of 15.85. Not bad for a V6. I was impressed with his professionalism. I can die a happy man now that all three boys have raced.

 

Fun to watch your kids grow up. Enjoy it while you can.

 

Baer Brakes show again this weekend. 8-Noon at 22ave and Peoria. Shouldnt be too hot in the morning. Might go check out the NMCA race later in the day at Speedworld if I can leave my kiddo with my sister.

 

I'll be finishing up getting my car back together this Sat morn...hopefully have it running. :bananaman

Joe, did you get to talk to the owners? Wonder if they are members on this site?

 

I knew I should have gone to the show saturday night. I had a weird feeling telling I should go and felt guilty that I didnt. I was burned out from the show inthe morning, working on the car for a while, and then putting in shelves in a closet. Maybe they will be there next week and we can get a few more mavs out there with Joes car, my car, and maybe Gene will get his running.

 

Mine is back together. Let's do it.

 

Is it ironic that I didnt mention Tony's name in my last post? No it is not because I had no faith that his car would be together and be able to make a short drive. But since the Cardinals are 3-0 and tonys car runs I am beginning to believe in miracles.

Lets do it then, next saturday night we will drive some Mavericks to the car show and shock the world.

 

You know the world comes to an end in December right?
