I still think the cluster should be orange too. You could leave the inner recessed area inside the chrome rings the black color.
I have another cluster that I will paint orange leaving the inner recessed area inside the chrome rings black before I paint the better cluster. How about white face plates?
You do know that the folks on E-Bay that sell the white face overlays also offer them in other colors, custom ordered of course....how about light colored orange one's?
When I look at this pic it screams that it needs an orange cluster.. Then it will look like it has a black border with a flare at the cluster area..
I think your dash looks great with the 2 tone paint I think the orange cluster face with black instrument pods would work
The heater control bezel is black w/lettering highlighted in the silver/chrome paint. Ashtray is orange with the handle pull silver/chrome.
And to expand on Sam's question, how is it attached to the dash? I bought theis same trim sometime ago but was never sure that I would be using it on my 69.5. Afte seeing the use of orange and black seperated by that trim, I think I might just put it to use
It is attached to the dash with little clips that get pushed into holes on the dash. 1969 1/2 and 1970 Maverick did not have this trim. All Grabbers come with this trim. Not sure what other cars got it.
