You know, you are probably right I guess. I've built a couple of supercharged motor and many carb'd motors...........and have to say I've never built a turbo motor with the exception of my Thunderbird Turbo Coupe (88) I spent a ton of $$$$ (back in 94) on an Esslinger head and we made more RWHP than the motor was rated when stock. Supercharged motors are somewhat limited...............I have a friend with a Pro-Mod car and he just broke into the high 5's............now he is laying down maybe 2000HP...............but the cost of the motor is well into the $100+ range.......................for the street they are less expensive than a turbo and only slightly more expensive than a carb'd motor (just the cost of the supercharger)...........and there are inexpensive ways to go and very expensive ways to go. Now with that said I guess I was just refering to someone who would take a totally stock motor and put a turbo on it, kind of like taking a stock motor and putting NO2 on it. I totally understand that in either case the motor will probably not live very long with stock crank, rods, pistons........etc. If you take a racing motor with carbuetor, to make over 700HP you will need to drop at least $20k or more. Now take a turbo motor...........you will spend maybe $30k or more but get twice the HP..............say 1400HP............so looking at it the way I just described...........the turbo motor only cost 30% more to build..............but I've doubled the HP..........so per HP it is less expensive than trying to build a 1400HP carb'd motor that would cost upwards of $100k...................................IMHO
Don't really understand what you mean???????????????? So I suppose in your area the Pro-Mods are running in the low 5's in the 1/4 mile

Guess I've never seen a Pro-Mod race that was an 1/8th mile, but maybe in your neck of the woods there are. I'll try and be a little more specific for you in the future.
