Had a great time out for the first time this year. I changed to a 750 Pro Form carb over my faithfull stock 800 Holley. Also added a set of 275 Mickey T Raidial Pro's. The car ran very well going a best of 11.62@114 my home made ram air gave me .013 and 1mph I tested it twice. Cant wait for some video a few friends have. I was told both wheels had daylight under them with 1.60 60fts. Ive been thrashing this same engine for about 9 years and it has worked very well for me. Maybe ill give it a break soon and build another....

Those are some good numbers for a stock bottom end! Is it still the stock cam?

11.62@114 with a 1.60 60ft is a pretty effecient run, not too much mph for the et, good 60ft, sounds like you are making the best of a good combo, is that the best run ever? was that in good air?

did you ever get a set of tires for your car? last time i remember you had no traction, and could floor it out of the hole.

Since then I've actually bought 2 sets of slicks lol. 26x10.5/15 and 28x10.5/15
Not sure which set to use.. Plus I'm looking for some different gears now. 3.50 didnt cut it at all- I'm about to take the car apart this winter and maybe try to drop a couple hundred pounds too.

I'm jealous of his 11's.. Good job though!

I have a set of 26X10.5/15, and have only used them on the street. They make the car launch quicker, due to the 1" diameter reduction.

Never used them at a track, though. So this is all just seat of pants that I am talking about.

I also have them mounted on VERY light aluminum rims. Tire and rim together are probably 15 lbs, where my cragars with 255/60r15s are probably closer to 30 lbs each.

Sorry for the delayed response guys. The trans is a Performance Auto C4 with there street foward pattern VB and hardened input. It was freshened by them last year and has now about 12 passes on it. The converter is also a fresh Edge 4400 with the same amount of passes. I run Cal tracs, Calvert's Mono leaf spring and a MT ET Radial Pro 275 tire @ 17psi warm on an 8 in rim. I leave @ 3,000 and shift at 7,000 and cross the stripe @ 6,300.
The engine is a 306,Airgap intake,750 Proform, 72-82 Jet,4.5 PV, Performance automotive SSI Cam 520/544 234/244 @ .050, AFR 165 Comp Heads, Dove Roller Rockers, Trend Pushrods,1 5/8 Headmans, 3" X pipe with 16" Bullets, Pistons are a flat top TRW now SLP-L2482F30, That brings CR to 10:1, Crank is a stock 70's balanced .030&.030 unit with stock 70's 302 Rods, A DSS Main girdle and windage tray along with ARP hardware hold it all together, A melling HV oil pump keeps it lubed up, Milidon 7qt pan is underneath. Aluminum radiator,Perma Cool elec fan and stock 302 water pump. 1 wire Powermaster Alt, Stock 302 starter that hates heat...lol
An aluminum Dynotech driveshaft leads its way to a 8" with 4:11's and stock axles with longer studs, Also I have a set of (Dan Starnes) sub frame connectors tieing the thing together. It has all the interior and extra padding/sound deadning and comes to 3000lbs with 220lb of me behind the wheel...lol

Thats all I can think of for now, Thanks so much for the comments guys. Its been a blast running it through the years and trying to do one thing at a time and do my homework befor I spent the cash. I still think there is more in her but as others have said its all about a good combo of parts.

Oh and "Boss302" the air was ok, it was 66deg 73% humidity and 29.91 BP. Im really unsure what the DA was I should have asked around. The track is @ 550-600ft above sea level.

it sounds like a real nice thought out combo, it doesnt have a big cam, not alot of duration, so i think its running very well, would like to see you run unmuffled, would probably pick up at least a tenth, i switched to a tilton starter years ago for the same problem you have with a stock one. if you do that, increase the cable size to single "O" so you get no voltage drop. last thing, a 4.56 would be good, probably a 4.88 would be best, would probably put you thru the traps around 7000.

just some suggestions, but it seems you got a handle on it.

29.91 barometer is good, but 73% humidity isnt.

I have a set of 4.62's for the rear that were in the plans. Also want to drop the exhaust like you said, ( I should have done that at the test n tune) Its easy to do the way I have it set up. Also Ive already put 0 gauge on the starter...lol I may do the gears and a good starter this winter. Ill run it one more time this year maybe at MIR in NOV.
