    Hello(y)

Buy a 6901-HKR hooker headers, holley web site says that if any problems remain, the only thing that could bring serious is a slight modification system transmission shifting.
That's not my concern, what if that failure to interfere with the base or column damper, they get perfect ....????

    one resides on your maverick?
    photos you can upload?
    Someone who has done ...?

just a question because I tried and could not mount ....!

There is a trick or tip???
    thanks ..!

this is my car:drive:, my project is:dance:

How did you try to put them in. You need to jack the car up as high as you can and put them in from underneath. The passenger side should fit pretty easily. The drivers side needs to have the engine bolt removed and the engine jacked up a few inches. If you jack the engine up put a board under the oil pan to spread the load. Also do a search on here for hooker 6901 header installation.:)
Make sure you have the spark plugs removed also.

I have a new pair hanging on my car now waiting on other things before bolting solid. I raised the engine off of the mounts by about an inch or more one side at a time and came in from the bottom as Don said. I kept the side I wasn't working on bolted loosely 'just because'. It still took a little wiggling but they went in fine. I am going with hydraulic clutch linkage because that's what I want for a future engine/drive train combination but the factory Z-bar worked on my first Maverick with this design headers (they look just like my old Blackjacks). I've read here that automatics need to re-arrange the column linkage or convert it to floor shift with a cable.

With my 70 I found I have to install the driver's side first, otherwise I can't get the header past the steering box.

Just letting you know...most people get them to fit, but i could not get them in my car without squishing them in between the shock towers...? just above the motor mounts part not the actual tower. i got them in but they had some major damage..worst fitting pair of the 5 i tried.

Don't know if i have Hookers but the drivers side goes in from underneath without jacking the engine....Just have to remove spark plugs and valve cover but i also have no clutch or automatic tranny linkage to contend with

i have 6901s on my car, I recommend you install drivers first as its the main pain of the whole issue, the passenger side is the easiest and will go in from the bottom without issues after you unbolt your starter. You will need a powersteering drop down bracket if you want powersteering, and convert to a floor shift if you have a column shift car.

    thanks guys ..!

    Don Graham / Shorty
I will follow the advice, this weekend I will have time to do it but I will take into account what he says bmcdaniel, it seems quite reasonable.

My transmission is standard 4-speed was a Mustang GT 86, the box is aluminum, no rods or whip, the system is internal changes.

The engine is a 1982 5.0EFI, electronica admission delete it because I want to carburetor.:D

locate the item that says "Don Graham" but did not find any link if you pass if you have a photo and they are grateful.

I will not mourn for they can not be put, just kidding lol ....

    Greetings from Veracruz, Mexico:tiphat:

    tody thanks!

I hope you do not have to change anything, because some have to change and others are not? that life is unfair, lol ...!

Braquet bracket the engine will have to do something, because if these are placed opposite the engine is further back later ....!

    I start by reviewing that.

    guys ... keep in touch!
