I have chrome trim around the wheel wells and a strip down each side of the car. The ones down each side have black plastic in the middle to help against other cars banging their doors into the paint. Does anyone know where I can get replacement pieces for these? I'm getting the car painted soon and would like to have nice new pieces to put back on.
No one makes new OEM trim for our cars - you could try posting in the parts wanted section of the classified and maybe someone has something in like new condition
VERY hard to find new ones (also know as NOS). I suspect if you find a complete set of NOS ones, you would be looking at $500 to $1000 for all the pieces.
Thanks for the reply guys. I was afraid I might hear that news, I had searched around a little on the web with no luck. The trim I have on there now is in pretty decent condition, I'll just have to be real careful taking it off. I'd definitely like to keep the trim on there, I think it looks pretty good, adds detail.
Is this what you are looking for: http://www.autopartsobsolete.com/71...s-ford-D0DZ-16038-39-A-D0DZ-6229164-65-A.html Sometimes, you just have to look, a lot!
....and was this the other molding you were looking for? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Side-Mo...Parts_Accessories&hash=item20cc5a14f4&vxp=mtr
Thank you sir- I had quit looking actually. Do you think they will fit the 70' ? I wonder why the don't list the 70' ?
Your guess is as good as mine on that one. There might have been a minor change but they would probably work. My car was a strip model. Grandpa was a little on the cheep side. 170, three on the tree, manual steering, bench seat, no carpet, no radio and no cigarette lighter. He did opt for the block heater though. I guess when you are near the Arctic Circle it is not really an option. None of that fancy shiny stuff on my car.
Maybe they were the same but the 70' just didn't have an option of chrome wheel trim. The wheel trim I have on my car is a cheap aftermarket type someone added at some point. My car is about the same deal, but has power steering and manual brakes. I do have carpet but no radio or cigar lighter. Do you have pics on this site of this Grandpa mobile?
No longer grandpa's car: Grabber clone, 250, Weber, C4, AC, carpet, radio, rear defroster, trunk light, sun roof. The avitar is actually my car from the '98 catalog. Here is a picture from another site: http://www.jag-lovers.org/include/i...Hn8sC+RAGmJYGCs0RB5/gzwvICwGelw4Iygn+lpjIM7kU
