I am having difficulty removing these!!! They will wiggle a little bit so I know they're not stuck, but they refuse to pull off! I had a right angle pair of needle nose holding the shaft and tried prying the knob ( gently ) with a flat screwdriver against the pliers. Nope! I started to mark the knob. These are in good shape and I don't want to have to get new ones if I can remove these without screwing them up! Any tricks? Would a little oil help? I was able to get the control facia off by using a sturdy butter knife with a plastic butter knife against the dash to prevent scratches. Going around and around, loosening the facia a little at a time worked great, but the knobs have me stuck! I appreciate any input, as I am now stuck!
I get a pair of pliers in behind the knob and pull them off, that way they do not get nicked up. Sometimes you really have to pull hard. Just don't smack yourself in the face when you do!!
lol just about lost a tooth taking mine off they just pull off some take more to get off than others but theyll come off eventually just watch out like craig said
Ok, now that I understand they're tight to come off, would a little PB Blaster or other penetrant help or would it hurt the finish? These guys are really on there and I'm afraid of breaking something in the controls pulling real hard!
