    amen brother. :yup:

I get asked to work on Chevy stuff about 5 - 1 over Fords. And parts availability is just insane compared to anything else. Regardless of what we prefer.. dollar for dollar.. sbc can't be beat. :)

And while we're veering here.. I've also seen a handful of 440 Chryslers in a few Chevy(co-worker had a 63'ish) and Ford vintage trucks too. Seems like they created interest more often than not.. and never got the heat like the Chevy/Ford swaps do. Not to mention that the old Hemi can get away with being swapped into just about any thing made by any one. (y)

Here is a 64 Dodge 330 with 496ci Wedge motor.....................800hp with a carb (run on the same dyno as my motor).....................and is owned by Mike Renteria who is 74 years old. It's driven on the street and is a true monster.
The Renteria Bros. are currently building a slightly larger Wedge for the founder of Bob's Big Boy...............should make around 1200hp.
You have to love those Wedge motors..............................and every other motor you can build and make good HP....................I have nothing against SBC.................but I don't follow the crowd and never have.............."Belly Button Motors" are in 80% of HotRods for a reason..........small, cheap, easy to fit and can make HP.

I'd have no problems putting a Toyota engine in a Maverick, or a 4 cylinder diesel of any make. Ahhh....thats a nice looking pitchfork you've got there.....oh I see.......welp gotta go!!

Well I,m not liking crossbreeds either, BUT some have fantastic workmanship, thought, and manufacturing prowness.IE, 35 ford coupe with a 426 hemroid, datsun pu with a bbc ,427,4 gear. The pu was in Norwalk, and the coupe was in Oshawa,on. I,m more interested in how much thought and was the parts store bought or made by the owner. I much prefer to examine a home made car than a car that says, LOOK at me, I have tons of money.I,m just a old fashioned guy who still makes the parts, rather than buy them readily made.:)

My dad worked for roush in the 70's the reason for the chevy motor was because NHRA was putting all kind of restrictions on the ford guys so jack roush did simply to screw with the NHRA but i dont think they ever actully ran the car I think they backed off of him after he did it.
