    Hi Ryan,
    I'm interested in your alternator.Do you know if it's the same housing as the '70s (other than the pulley)?

    It is very similar in size, the 94-95 Gt ones are the closest, just slightly larger then the old ones on the Maverick. but they pretty much bolt up since the lower bracket just pivots. there alot of threads on here on the 3g swap, here is one with pics on page 2 of Mojo's swap using a v-belt http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=36192&highlight=alternator+conversion

    Ryan, I read the information,thanks for posting it for me.It definitely seems to be what I need. Just put a new radiator in the car and the core is thicker than the original.I didn't want to bend up the fins so I installed an electric fan. So I better upgrade before I look like that "camero guy"in the commercial standing next to his car with the hood up, alongside the highway.(Although actually looking like that guy would be something I could live with:oops:). So..Um.. Love you,man!:rofl2: I mean..Ready to deal!

    I made my shift boot yesterday. Just need to find the right 4 bolts I want to use to hold it on. I might just make it in time for the meet. It looks pretty sweet too. I couldnt find anything new that was the right size to cover the hole and not be too big. I hunted the junkyards for ideas and all I could come up with is a 80s ranger shifter boot bezel but the boot itself was too big. So I combined that bezel that was the perfext size with a Mr. Gasket shift boot. it looks like it was this way and looks correct in the car. No pics for now but you will see it tomorrow.

    hope everybody has their cars running. the meet tomorrow will be the biggest yet. I have 4 screws to put in. And maybe re-cover my console if I am ambitious in the morning.

    I've got the wiring soldered, just a matter of running it all under the carpeting. Shouldn't take more than 10 or 12 hours to complete.

    That's still less time than it took Ryan to change his fuel filter. Good job Tony! :biglaugh:

    Thanks Ryan;
    For the text concerning the Meet. I had to take a step back from this 73 for a while and decide whether to continue or start over with another body.

    I think Ill finish it.:yup:

    Does anybody need a 73 style rear seat for a 2 door? I want to get rid of the one I took out of my car. Its vinyl, the bottom is good but the top piece is splitting at the top. free if you pick it up.
