Welded in my new driver's rear floor pan. The 1969 mustang pan does not completely cover what I need replaced, but it has the nice rounded corner that I dreaded making by hand. I will just need to make a small patch and then it will be done.

Also started working on fitting the driver's front floor pan. It will go much easier than the rear.

 

Your project is coming along really nicely. I am so grateful that I didn't have to do any floor patch work. I would rather quarters panels all day long.

Hey merc, are you going to try to fab the rest of the pan peices yourself, or can you use any of the left over stang pan to fab it up ? It really stinks that no one makes pans for Mavs and Merc's.

 

I've got a mustang pan for the drivers front. It is close, just got to narrow it and tweak the tunnel curve. Whatever doesn't get covered by the pan will just get patched by hand. It will be a glorious day when I'm done with the floor. Then it is onto the rotisserie for new cowls.

 

6 hours of trimming, fitting, more trimming, more fitting, spot welding, plug welding, and grinding. And only two pictures. Floor pans suck! Only 3 small patches to go where the replacement pans did not reach. But, the 1969 pans are saving me a lot of fab work.
