    COMING SOON

A NEW product from Chassis Connection,

    Made in Mayville, Wisconsin USA

Floor shift selector switch for 1969 - 1986 C4 and C5 automatic transmissions.

You need this part to convert a column shift transmission to use with a Ford OEM type floor shifter.

Fully tested and inspected for function, fit, and quality.

This part has not been available from Ford for over 20 years.

We plan on having these ready to ship by Dec 15th.
    ,
These are of the same high quality that you have seen in our Monte Carlo Bars, Export Brace, Heavy Duty Belly Bar, Camber eccentric eliminator kit and Shelby Drop Index tool.

I am not quite ready to list this in the for sale section of this board. I want to have them in hand, ready to ship, when posted for sale.

Priced at $69.86 plus USPS mail of $5.50

Let me know what you think.

Looks nice, but I would suggest calling it a manual control lever. "Selector switch" sounds more like a neutral switch or something like that.

    You asked.

I think the double style like a Maverick would have had would be better. That way one could use the rod that goes up to the steering column and locks the steering wheel when the car is placed in PARK. If somebody didn't want that option, they could leave off the rod...or just cut off the extra ear.

This will be going on my shopping list.

I think you will sell a bunch of these. Will you have installation instructions with them?

I concur .. the shifter mechanism is fairly easy to get .. but the floor shift rod is not so easy ... I think most folks would like to buy both parts from you.

also .. didn't the factory piece also have an additional place to mount the rod to lock the steering column?

    Thanks

    Thanks for the feedback,

    All comments are being considered.

About the column lock feature, It was left off for header clearance. It being my thought that most of the apps for this product would not be running a stock exhaust.

    I will start
work on producing the shifter rod.

This is the piece I was describing in my post above.

I guess my thoughts would be that whoever would go to the trouble of wanting a FACTORY floor shift automatic in their Maverick would also want this feature (in bold above). I know I would. Otherwise...they would just go with an aftermarket shifter and avoid the hassle of having to change anything on their transmission. If they didn't want this feature, they could just leave the rod off. Of course, one would need to find this rod as well...or you could make it as well. :D

I think having the shifter rod would be a big help in selling this product.

Nice piece. As for the column lock are there enough cars running manifolds out there to justify it??

    Floor shifter

My thoughts on automatic floor shifters, is that the OEM Ford, 1) Works, 2) Fits, 3) Looks right, 4) It's simple, 5) It's readily available.

I have not found an after market automatic shifter, that I like, except the Lokar. I feel that most are over built, to convey something of a Macho image. Well, you have to pay, for all that over engineering, in the high prices of the after market shifters.
Man, all you are doing is moving a hydraulic valve selector, over coming a small dentent ball and spring, not raising the Titanic.

Okay, I know, the Racers out there will have all kinds of reasons why an aftermarket shifter is better. But, I just don't like the damm things.

Thanks for the comments, I am thinking about each recommendation.

I thought I read once that all you have to do is flip the column shift lever 180ยบ to make it work for a floor shift.

I don't see this rod being in the way of headers at all. It is pretty tight against the firewall. I have this rod AND headers, but they are shorties.
