Ok, things are finally moving SLOOOWWWLY on my 74 grabber. Body parts are in primer, shell is going in for quarter replacement. Body guy and I were discussing paint today and I asked if I needed to get the graphics ordered so we can match the orange paint. First, I think I noticed Phoenix Graphixs does reproduction 74 grabber graphics, are these the guys to go with, and second, should I match the graphics to get the orange correct. Also, looks to me like the dash orange has metal fleck, is this right? If so, what should I be getting for that paint? Thanks for any advice!

I went with Graphics Express because they are Licensed by Ford to reproduce the Maverick Grabber stripes.

Any paint shop should be able to mix up the orange for you. It is the same orange if the car was orange with white stripes.

    as Dave pointed out...
the vinyl will be a different shade from painted metal body panels. any painted unlike materials will be different.
painting the strips/graphics on is the only way to get close to the same shade...

For my 71 Comet GT, I had Graphics Express make the stripe a stencil rather than the normal striping material. That way I can paint the stripe on and burry it all in clear. They dont list it, but they can do it as a stencil. You might want to go that way so everything will match up.

This is painful. I have been all over picking up parts for this car and now we need outer wheel houses and a tailight panel. I think I have them located but hard to say, the donor car is under a snow drift right now. However, I did get my orange bucket seats back yesterday! They look good and upholsterer says they will tighten up with sun!

They did turn out really nice also. I got the fabric through sms. It was like $50/yard and it took 2 yards. The seats were done by a local upholsterer I know. He is also doing the rest of the car interior and the vinyl top. Now if I just had a painted shell to send him!
